Description
Introduction to the wonderful art of making mosaics. On this beginners mosaic course you will be introduced to the wonderful art of making Mosaics, to include the process of separately grouting your own designed piece over 3 separate 3 hour lessons. Lesson 1 – you will make a colour wheel to learn about colours and placements with a fun piece to display (feel free to bring your own colour small pieces to include and personalise your piece, as well as materials provided by the tutor) you will then begin to work at your own pace to then create some practical coasters which then can be grouted in different colours in lesson 2 and 3. Individual designed pieces will be discussed and ideas generated. Please don’t worry if you can’t draw, Nicola will help you with this part. Lesson 2 – You will grout completed coasters from lesson 1 and complete any other outstanding coasters. You will start to work on your own unique mosaic design. Cutting and laying and sticking will be started with areas for grouting to be completed by the end of this lesson. Lesson 3 – You will grout any outstanding coasters from lesson 2 and areas of your individual designed piece. You will then spend the remainder of this lesson completing your design, taking additional grout with you to complete at home, if necessary. Future classes in advanced mosaics or one-off day courses are also a possibility if you have decided its a craft you’d love to explore further. This final lesson can be quite fluid in the end time, some people finish up to an hour earlier, others can overrun by 45 minutes, please bear this in mind and discuss at the beginning of the lesson if you need to get away promptly.
